Mohamed Ghobashy praises the government’s interest in the “old rent” file and reflects the imminent resolution of the crisisReal estate appraisal expert
Mohamed Ghobashy , Secretary-General of the New Cairo and Administrative Capital Developers Association, and member of the Board of Directors of the Real Estate Investment Division, praised the government’s strong interest in the “old rent” file and working efficiently to deal with this crisis and achieve the interest of all parties, pointing out that the old rent file is one of the complex historical issues that the government aims to deal with with the utmost caution to achieve balance and not harm the interest of all parties.
He added that conducting a community dialogue about the old rent file contributes to reaching the formulation of a law that restores the balance between the landlord and the tenant, and contributes to resolving this issue. The government already has several alternatives, represented by hundreds of thousands of housing units suitable for different segments, pointing to the importance of restoring the balance between landlords and tenants and taking into account the most needy social segments in this law.
He pointed out that “old rent” is a problem of public opinion as it is related to the interests of a large number of citizens, and with the serious steps taken by the government, this crisis is about to end and a major breakthrough will be achieved in the lives of many citizens who own these properties, and at the same time heralds a new era of re-interest in this huge real estate wealth through its periodic maintenance and care.
He continued: “I extend my sincere thanks to Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly for his clear vision for dealing with the old rent file, and his serious desire to completely resolve this crisis from its roots. This vision achieves a balance between the interests of all parties, which will achieve success in dealing with this file. There is coordination between the government and Parliament to come up with a legal vision that is applicable on the ground”.
He pointed out that the government has immediate proposals to deal with the crisis, such as establishing a solidarity fund for housing for the most needy cases, to which the beneficiaries of this law will contribute, provided that this law regulates that in the case of renting for residential purposes, as well as the presence of a community dialogue with the aim of agreeing on the standards for the amendment, and all of them are proposals that will achieve more success in getting out of this crisis.
